A report issued by the World Government Summit Organisation (WGS) co-authored with PwC predicts that cities hosting megaevents will have touchless crowd-tracking sensors to collect real-time data, mixed reality and metaverse as part of an industry contributing $1 trillion to the global economy. According to the report, countries continue to “rethink how to deal with these events in the future because the frequency of future shocks [such as another pandemic] is expected to increase”.
